One Day Retreats

As well as being a working farm, Haddon Copse Farm (the home of Angel Cottage Organics) also provides a home and haven for all: there is an abundance of wildlife, an ‘away from it all’ campsite and a growing programme of courses, workshops and retreats which embrace the philosophy of nurturing the soul through a return to nature. We hope you will find something in the following courses to tempt you to join us for a day of nature and nurture.

Tai Chi Qigong’ In Nature – A One Day Workshop

Saturday 1st July 2017 9.30am – 5pm

This day course, led by Jane and Patrick Foley of Longwater Tai Chi, will be a chance to immerse yourself in discovering and learning to embody the ancient, healing principles of Tai Chi Qigong movements, in harmony with the positive energies of nature.

An introduction to moving and feeling your Qi (subtle life energy): the joyful, natural opening energy of summer encourages releasing of tension and an opening of the heart. This is a good time to refine body alignments, mobilise and open the body in ways that benefit the health of the heart. Bring joy, love and compassion into your body, mind and spirit as you learn fluid, smooth qigong movements that are based on tai chi. Relax into finding calm and stillness within and a root in the earth. Focus on slowing down the mind, with breath and awareness of the body, nature and balance.

This will be a relaxing day with Tai Chi Qigong sessions, a homemade vegetarian lunch, an exploration of the herbs growing on the organic farm and guided Meditation. No prior knowledge of Tai Chi or Qigong is needed.

Jane and Patrick Foley teach Tai Chi and Qigong as relaxing, enjoyable exercise. Between them they have nearly 50 years of experience in these arts. They teach regular classes and workshops in Wiltshire, Hampshire, Dorset and sometimes further afield. http://www.longwatertaichi.co.uk/index.php

Constellations in the Cowshed – Making Space for the Animals in the System

Friday 4th August 2017 10am – 6pm

A Special Constellation Workshop with Gaye Donaldson

This is a very special exploratory workshop in which Gaye will focus, using the constellation method, on making space for animals in our system. This maybe the animals we live with or an animal in our past that has a place in our heart, or perhaps a spirit animal that we feel walks with us.

We will be meeting in a circle, either outside or in the cow barn, depending on the weather. In both settings we will be surrounded by the animals who wish to come along. We will work with what is arising; we will give voice to the animals and listen to what follows.

A constellation begins with a conversation in which the difficulty or issue is presented, and the hopes for resolution are identified. The participant is then asked to select group members to represent elements of the system under consideration – in this workshop we will include the animals. These ‘representatives’ are ‘set up’ to stand in a configuration called a Constellation and they are asked by the facilitator to feedback basic information which both contributes towards a fuller understanding of the present difficulty and supports movements towards resolution.

As well as discussion and teaching, there will be space to look at 5 or 6 issues during the day. We will simply ask the group who would like to do a personal piece of work and will select who ever feels ready at that moment. As a result, please be clear that the opportunity to present your own issue is not guaranteed. It is however our consistent experience in this work that all those present will, in one way or another, have an equally powerful experience.

Gaye Donaldson is a constellations practitioner and registered BACP counsellor, who has worked in the community and the private sector. She became a student of systemic constellations in 1994, training extensively in both family and organisational constellations in the UK and abroad.

£135 per person inclusive of all food and drinks

Susannah Graziano is a yoga teacher and Thai Massage therapist based near Warminster in Wiltshire. She teaches extensively locally.
