Soil to Soul can be experienced as a one-day immersion or a weekend journey (read on for full information). Each experience stands fully on its own. The one-day immersion offers a complete experience within a single day, with the option to stay on the land, while the weekend journey includes staying on the land and allows a deeper experience to unfold over time.
“Pay attention. Be astonished. Tell about it.”
— Mary Oliver
Inspired by poet Mary Oliver’s instruction, Soil to Soul offers immersive, nourishing days on our dynamic, regenerative, organic farm alive with wildlife and daily farm activity.
These experiences support a deeper, more reciprocal relationship with the natural world — with land, soil, farming, animals, food, health, and the nature of your own soul.
Through slowing down, observing, and spending time in close relationship with the living landscape of the farm, you are invited to reconnect with the world as a community of beings and rediscover a sense of belonging within it.
“A joy from the moment I arrived to the moment I left.”
“Thank you for opening my eyes — it has changed my world forever, for the better.”

About Your Hosts
Soil to Soul is facilitated, led, and lovingly held by farmers and eco-therapists Tom Mettyear and Mark Sparrow, of Haddon Copse Farm, home of Angel Cottage Organics.
Haddon Copse Farm is both a working, productive farm — where the daily care of livestock and the health of the land are inseparable — and an immensely biodiverse landscape. The lives of poultry, cattle, sheep, and pigs entwine with barn owls, nightingales, orchids, fungi, and bees across pasture, orchards, and woodland — an intermingling of reciprocity and respect.
The farm is the culmination of a twenty-five year journey that began on the beaches of Greece’s Peloponnese peninsula. There, attuning to the seasonal and daily rhythms of the moon, stars, and tides, we began to reawaken deep childhood memories of nature walks, birdwatching, and rural life on the traditional farms of family and friends.
On returning to England, these threads wove together with our existing knowledge and experience of working with plants as medicine. Through running a natural health business, establishing a small organic farm, and training in eco-therapy, we deepened our understanding of human nutrition, regenerative organic farming, and the profound impact our relationship with the more-than-human world has on health and wellbeing.
In 2012 we created Haddon Copse Farm and, over the past fourteen years, this has become both our passion and our life’s work. As we farm our land and tend our livestock to produce healthy, vital, and sustainable food, we dedicate ourselves to sharing this place with every other inhabitant of this small patch of Dorset — from the mycorrhizal fungi beneath our feet to the magnificent oaks above.
Our relationship with the more-than-human world guides our daily lives. Soil to Soul is an invitation to step into that relationship with us — to listen, to notice, to be changed by what you encounter, and to return to your daily life carrying that experience with you.
“There is life before a day at Haddon Copse Farm and there is life after it.”
