Soil to Soul

Reconnect to Nature & Rewild Your Soul

15th June 2024

An immersive and restorative day on a dynamic, regenerative, organic & nature-based farm, enhancing your connection with nature, farming, food, health and your soul.

Whether you are a seasoned nature buff or a novice welly wearer, join us to… walk, talk, listen, learn, eat, meet, make, meditate, watch, contemplate & connect.

“Remember the plants, trees, animal life who all have their families, their histories too. Talk to them, listen to them. They are alive poems.” – Joy Harjo

The richness of Haddon Copse Farm supports both a working, productive farm and an immensely biodiverse landscape. The lives of poultry, cattle, sheep and pigs entwine with barn owls, nightingales, orchids and bees across our pasture, orchards and woodland.

Throughout the day you will experience:

  • led nature walks through both our wild & productive land
  • guided  observation of the lives of animals, plants, birds, butterflies & bees
  • supported meditation, deepening your connection to the natural world
  • time making medicine from plants we pick
  • solo exploration of your inherent kinship with the more-than-human world
  • opportunities to absorb the health & vitality of the land
  • chance to sink into a new relationship with food, farming, wildlfe and the nature of your soul.
  • fabulous food, farmed, foraged & prepared by us
  • possibility of a wild swim in our wildlife pond!

“Every being exists in intimate relation with other beings and in constant exchange of gifts with each other. But this relationship is beyond pragmatic use. It is rather a mutual sharing of existence in the grand venture of the universe itself.” – Thomas Berry

For a truly immersive experience, why not stay the night? Our campsite will be open on the nights before and after this event exclusively for participants. So you can either pitch your tent for free or for £15 per person hire one of our beautiful bell tents (you will need to bring your own bedding).  Alternatively, we can send you a list of local B&Bs on request.

This day will be facilitated, led and held by farmers and eco-therapists Tom Mettyear and Mark Sparrow of Haddon Copse Farm, the home of Angel Cottage Organics.

Haddon Copse Farm is the culmination of a 20 year journey which began on the beaches of Greece’s Pelloponese peninsular. There, we began to resonate with the seasonal and daily rythmns of the moon, the stars and the tides. This reawakened deep and profound childhood memories of nature walks, birdwatching and rural life on the traditional farms of family and friends. Returning to England these strands of interest began to twine together with existing knowledge and experince of working with plants as medicine. Through our joint ventures of running a natural health business, starting a small organic farm and training in eco-therapy we deepened our understanding of human nutrition, regenerative organic farming and the impact of our relationship with the more-than-human world on our health and wellbeing. Over the last 11 years this has become our passion and our life’s work. As we farm our land and livestock to produce healthy, vital and sustainable food, we dedicate ourselves to sharing it with every other inhabitant of this small patch of Dorset – from the mycorrhizal fungi to the magnificent oaks.

Our relationship with the more than human guides our daily lives. It is now time to share this rich vision with others and this day invites you to step in to that world with us.
